FUNERALS

Losing a loved one can be an exceptionally traumatic time,  you may feel at your lowest and at a loss as to what to do. The next steps of saying goodbye, surrounded by friends and family, is important. I will be there, along with the funeral director to help you through this time.

My aim is to help you celebrate the life of your loved one in a compassionate and dignified way,  that truly reflects their life and personality.

Whether you want me as your celebrant for a funeral, memorial service, celebration of life, scattering of ashes or burial service, I will spend time with you and your family to create a service to remember.

Hearing stories and memories of loved ones is fascinating, 

The ups and downs, the laughs, the cries and achievements to show just how great a person they were. 

I will write and create a eulogy that will be compassionate, uplifting, sometimes maybe even humorous and reflective of how you want your loved one to be remembered.​

I will share a draft of the eulogy with you so you can make changes or add anything before the day.

With a background in performing, I am able to manage the timings and content of a ceremony,  Although I can write the eulogy, if you prefer, I can help and support you, your family and friends, to write and deliver your own, or help if you wanted to do a reading or poem.

Whilst the ceremonies I conduct are not religious as such, religious elements may be included, such as prayers,  hymns and readings

 I can help with ideas and suggestions for the service, whilst ensuring you keep to the timing you have been allocated

  

I have resources available, such as prompt questions to start the process of remembering a life, so together we can capture memorable and important moments.

Whilst a service can be sad and difficult, it should also be uplifting, inspiring, sometimes humorous and most of all memorable.

How I work with you 

Funerals are  a team effort, involving the family, the funeral director

and myself. To create and deliver a funeral or memorial service I will.

​

• Set up family meetings and phone calls until you are happy with the content.

• Suggest ideas from my wide range of resources, including music, readings and poetry.

• Create a bespoke ceremony script in consultation with you and your family.

• Source music, musicians or recordings if required.

• Present a personalised service and eulogy.

 

I have a warm and calming presence and  prepared to go above and beyond to design a ceremony that helps you with the start of your healing process.

MEMORIALS  AND CELEBRATION OF LIFE 

During the pandemic it has not been possible to say goodbye to your loved one in the way you may have wished and with the people who may have wanted to pay their respects, so having a memorial, when restrictions are lifted, is the perfect way to do this when you are ready.

A memorial service is a longer ceremony, which offers time to reflect on your loved ones life.​

It is completely bespoke, there are no rules about how formal or relaxed it has to be.

The ceremony is guided by the personality and story of your loved one.

It might include several tributes, readings, a slideshow of photos and an exhibition of mementos or achievements. I am always happy to help you design and create something new and different.

​DESIGN YOUR OWN FUNERAL

I am also available to work with you if you would like to design your own funeral or write your own eulogy, after all, nobody knows your life story better than you.

It is also nice to gather as much information as possible from your own memories so they are accurate.

I have the resources available to help you create a structured and safe way to capture your wishes so your memory is honoured.

It is also a good way to let your family know about what you would like regarding a burial or cremation and how you want your funeral service to run.

You get to choose the music, readings and any other elements you would like.
